How to Track Batch and Expiry Dates

Configure FEFO/FIFO picking, expiry alerts, and batch traceability for pharmacy and grocery stock.

Step 1. Enable track expiry on products that require batch or shelf-life control.
Step 2. Enter batch and expiry details on GRN lines when receiving stock.
Step 3. Set picking rule per item: FEFO (nearest expiry first) or FIFO (oldest receipt first).
Step 4. Open Expiry tracker and Expiry alert settings to configure email tiers (30/14/7 day windows).
Step 5. Use Test email on alert settings to confirm recipients before relying on automated notices.

Tips

Alerts are deduplicated per batch per tier — you typically get one email when a batch newly crosses a threshold, not every week for the same batch.
Bell notifications in the top bar can show unread expiry reminders when configured.
