How to Open a POS Cashier Session

Start a retail shift with opening float, ring sales, and close with a Z-report.

1. Step 1. Go to POS Terminal (/pos). If no session is open, click Open session.
2. Step 2. Select your POS terminal register from the dropdown — required for fiscal receipts and Z-report totals.
3. Step 3. Enter opening float (cash in drawer) and confirm. One open session per user per company.
4. Step 4. Ring sales: scan barcodes or search items, apply discounts, take payment, and complete sale — stock and journals post automatically.
5. Step 5. Close session: enter counted closing cash, review variance vs expected cash, and view session Z-report.
