Biznsbook Packaging Management catalogues your materials, builds packaging BOMs that cost and weigh every unit, designs and prints barcode labels, packs cartons with a First Fit Decreasing engine, and tracks your monthly sustainability footprint — all on the same items you already run in Inventory, Sales, and Manufacturing.
From the materials catalogue to the carton on the truck and the ESG report at month-end — connected to the inventory you already run.
Hold every material's physical and sourcing data in one place, with an optional photo.
Define a per-item specification and the nesting hierarchy used for labels and packing.
List materials per finished unit and let Biznsbook roll up cost and weight automatically.
Suggest cartons for a sale with a First Fit Decreasing packing engine — advisory, never a blocker.
Build labels at any size from text, tokens, barcodes, and rules — with a built-in fallback.
Pre-calculate a monthly packaging footprint from BOMs and sale outflows.
Produce the documents the dock needs straight from a confirmed cartonization result.
Packaging cost and consumption flow into the products and work orders you already run.
Scope who can view and manage packaging, with records kept for the long haul.
You catalogue packaging materials and carton types once, then attach a packaging specification and a packaging BOM to each item. From there Biznsbook costs and weighs every unit, prints product and carton labels through your own templates, suggests cartons for each sale, and snapshots a monthly sustainability footprint — all from data that already lives in your ERP.
Cartons, labels, and fillers never make it into product cost, so margins look healthier than they are and quotes are quietly wrong.
Without a carton plan, staff over-box orders, pay for dimensional weight they didn't need, and ship inconsistent parcels.
When a customer, retailer, or regulator asks how much packaging you put out and how much is recyclable, the answer is a frantic spreadsheet rebuild.
A packaging BOM rolls cost and weight per unit into product costing and landed-cost allocation — no separate spreadsheet.
FFD cartonization suggests the right cartons for each sale with dimensional and billable weights, plus a packing list and labels.
Monthly snapshots turn your BOMs and sales into total, recyclable, and recycled-content weight you can export on demand.
Catalogue it once and let Biznsbook cost, label, pack, and report the rest.

Turn packaging from an invisible cost into measured, labelled, and reportable data.
Four steps — most of which run quietly inside your existing workflow.
Add packaging materials and carton types with weights, dimensions, cost, and recyclability.
Create a packaging specification and a packaging BOM so cost and weight roll up per unit.
Print labels through your templates and run cartonization on sales for packing lists and carton labels.
Packaging cost feeds product costing, and the dashboard snapshots a monthly sustainability footprint.
Real cost roll-ups. Your own labels. Optimised cartons. A monthly ESG footprint.
Anyone who buys packaging, ships cartons, prints labels, or reports on packaging waste.
Cost packaging into finished goods and capture per-material consumption as work orders complete.
Pack each order into the right cartons, print GS1 labels, and hand the dock a packing list.
Report total, recyclable, and recycled-content packaging weight without rebuilding a spreadsheet.
Biznsbook turns your packaging materials and BOMs into the producer-responsibility records that Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) laws require — across California, Oregon, Colorado, and Maine — with per-state fee calculation and a state-ready export. EPR Packaging is an optional compliance add-on that activates inside the same ERP.
Sales of EPR-covered items shipped into a covered US state are captured automatically against that state's active packaging law.
When an EPR-covered item ships, Biznsbook records one packaging-flow event per BOM material line — never blocking the sale.
Organise flow events into annual or quarterly periods per state, then close a period to lock in totals.
Author and version an EPR packaging compliance plan, with the prior version auto-archived on each activation.
Store the Producer Responsibility Organizations (PROs) you register with, per state, alongside your account details.
Produce the packaging-flow CSV state agencies and PROs expect — inline per state, or queued through the Export Portal.
Biznsbook records and exports the packaging-flow data EPR laws require; seeded fee rates are configurable estimates. This is not legal advice and does not guarantee acceptance by any state agency or PRO — final compliance responsibility remains with the operator.
Packaging Management shares the same items, sales, suppliers, and stock as the rest of Biznsbook.
Packaging specs and materials live beside the item record, and sale outflows feed the sustainability footprint.
Sales can auto-suggest cartonization, and confirmed results print packing lists and carton labels with tracking.
Completing a work order records a packaging consumption history, and the packaging BOM mirrors production BOM costing.
Align packaging material demand with forecasted finished-goods volumes and replenishment plans.
Your packaging data is permissioned, retained, and isolated per company.
Viewing and managing packaging are governed by dedicated Packaging.View and Packaging.Manage permissions, seeded to Company Admins on licensing.
Packaging records are kept for five years — useful for product-liability history — with alert-only retention and no silent deletes.
Every material, spec, label print, cartonization result, and footprint snapshot is scoped to your company.
Activate the packaging module alongside Inventory, Sales, and Manufacturing — no separate packaging system to run.
See how packaging fits the way your sector actually ships — not just generic features.
Cost packaging into finished goods and record per-material consumption as work orders complete.

Packaging management software catalogues your materials, costs and weighs packaging through a bill of materials, designs and prints barcode labels, optimises cartons, and measures the sustainability footprint. Biznsbook delivers all of this as a module inside the ERP, sharing the same items, batches, and sales as the rest of the system.
A packaging specification is a per-item record of net and gross weight, primary material, dimensions, GTIN-14, and EPR or food-contact flags. The packaging hierarchy describes how a product nests — each, inner pack, case, and pallet — with per-level dimensions and GTINs, so labels and cartonization use the correct physical data.
A packaging BOM lists the materials consumed per finished unit — for example a carton, a label, and tape — each with a quantity per unit, unit of measure, and scrap percentage. Biznsbook caches each line's effective quantity, cost, and weight and rolls the required lines up into a total packaging cost and weight per unit, which feeds product costing and landed-cost weight allocation.
Cartonization suggests how a sale's items should be packed into shipping cartons using a First Fit Decreasing (FFD) algorithm against the company's active carton library and settings, then saves the result as cartons with dimensional and billable weights. Staff can confirm, void and re-run, assign tracking numbers, and print a packing list and carton labels. Cartonization is advisory — a sale is never blocked if it cannot run.
Yes. The label template designer stores an ordered set of fields — text, tokens, barcodes, and rules — with per-field font, alignment, and sizing, rendered to PDF at any label size. You pick a default template per type (Product, Carton, Shipping, or Custom); when none is set, Biznsbook falls back to its built-in labels. Three system templates are seeded out of the box, and every print is recorded in an append-only audit trail.
Biznsbook generates Code 128, EAN-13, GS1-128, and QR codes. Code 128 covers item and batch barcodes, EAN-13 retail barcodes with an auto-calculated check digit, and GS1-128 encodes GTIN-14, batch, expiry, and quantity application identifiers for case and carton labels. Barcodes are produced with ZXing.Net and rendered straight into the label PDF.
The dashboard pre-calculates a monthly packaging footprint per material type — total, recyclable, and recycled-content weight in kilograms — by combining each item's default packaging BOM with its sale outflows for the month. A monthly background job snapshots the previous month for every company with active BOMs, managers can recalculate any month or export a CSV, and snapshots are append-only so the trend is preserved.
Yes. Landed-cost allocation by weight pulls per-unit packaging weight from the default packaging BOM, and the item edit form shows a live packaging cost and weight panel. When a manufacturing work order completes, Biznsbook writes a packaging consumption record with a line per material — recorded automatically and never blocking work-order completion.
Each packaging material holds its name and type, SPI resin code, weight, dimensions, unit cost, supplier, lead time and minimum order quantity, recyclability and recycled-content percentage, food-contact approval, and an optional photo. Carton types store internal dimensions, an auto-calculated maximum volume, tare and maximum gross weight, and cost.
Packaging Management is an operational add-on that activates inside your Biznsbook ERP and shares the same items, suppliers, sales, and stock as the rest of the system — there is no separate packaging silo to maintain. Talk to sales to enable it for your account.
Yes. EPR Packaging is an optional compliance add-on that helps producers meet US state Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) packaging laws — California SB 54, Oregon's Recycling Modernization Act, Colorado HB 22-1355, and Maine LD 1541. It tracks packaging-material flow triggered by sales of EPR-covered items shipped into a covered state, records one packaging-flow event per BOM material line with a snapshot weight and a calculated fee, organises events into per-state reporting periods, stores a written compliance plan and Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) registration data, and produces a state-ready CSV packaging-flow report.
Biznsbook seeds the four US states with active EPR packaging laws: California (SB 54), Oregon, Colorado (with a 25,000 kg tonnage threshold), and Maine. Each state carries a configurable fee rate per kilogram used to calculate packaging fees, and the destination state is resolved from the fulfilling warehouse's state with the customer's state as a fallback.
Packaging weights come from each item's multi-material packaging BOM, so the fee per flow event is the total packaging weight in kilograms multiplied by the state's fee rate. You group flow events into annual or quarterly reporting periods per state, assign matching events, then close the period to lock in total weight and the calculated fee. A 15-column packaging-flow CSV can be exported inline per state or queued through the Export Portal, and records are retained for 36 months on an alert-only basis with no hard deletes.
Packaging management software is a system that helps a business catalogue packaging materials, define per-item packaging specifications and hierarchies, cost and weigh packaging through a bill of materials, design and print barcode labels, optimise how items are packed into cartons, and measure the sustainability footprint of the packaging it ships — all from one connected dataset.
