Sell by the yard Bolt tracking Hold & resume

What is Biznsbook for Fabric & Craft Stores?

Biznsbook is a POS and inventory system for fabric stores. The till sells fabric by the yard or metre to three decimals (0.25 yd, 1.375 yd) from a chosen roll, enforces an optional minimum cut and cut step such as 1/8 yd, and offers the whole remainder when a cut would leave only a remnant. Sales can be parked and resumed at any till in the store, and kept for 7 days after a session closes. Inventory, POS and Clothing fit in the Pro plan's three included modules.

Why fabric stores outgrow retail POS

Most retail tills count in whole units and lose track of what is left on each bolt.

Whole-unit tills

A quarter yard rounds to zero or one, so stock and the receipt never match what was cut.

Bolts tracked on paper

Nobody knows what is left on each bolt, which dye lot it is, or when it becomes a remnant.

Customers who keep shopping

A cut waits at the counter while the customer picks notions, and the sale has to be rung up from scratch.

Add-ons for basics

Selling by length and holding a sale often need a higher plan plus a separate app.

Problem: Sell 0.25 yd

POS + Clothing

Type the length, pick the roll; the receipt prints 0.25 yd and the roll and stock drop by 0.25.

Problem: Bolt-by-bolt stock

Inventory + Clothing

Receive each bolt with length, dye lot, width and barcode; see what is left on every roll.

Problem: Cut rules

Clothing

Optional minimum cut and cut step (1/8 yd); the whole end of a bolt can always be sold.

Problem: Remnants

Clothing

Rolls at or under your remnant threshold are flagged; a cut leaving a sliver offers the whole remainder.

Problem: Hold and resume

POS

Park a bill at the cutting table, pay at the front till; keep open bills for the next session.

Problem: Notions and trim

POS + Inventory

Ribbon, elastic and trim sold by measure take decimal quantities; buttons and kits sell by the unit.

Fabric roll dashboard showing length left on each bolt

Every bolt, every quarter yard

Roll lengths always add up to stock: sales, invoices, returns and cancellations all move the roll.

  • ✓
    Pick the roll
The till lists each bolt with dye lot, width and length left, oldest full roll first.
  • ✓
    Exact receipts
0.25 yd prints as 0.25 yd, never rounded.
  • ✓
    Remnants
Short ends stay on the roll and are flagged instead of disappearing from stock.
  • ✓
    Returns
Refunded length goes back on the roll it came from.

How a fabric sale runs in Biznsbook

From receiving a bolt to a return that puts the length back.

1

Receive the bolt

Enter roll number, length in yards, dye lot and width; stock goes up by that length.

2

Cut at the counter

Scan the fabric, type 0.25 or 1.75, pick the roll; the till checks your minimum cut and step.

3

Hold while they shop

Park the bill under the customer's name; any till can resume it.

4

Check out and return

Pay in cash or card; a refund puts the length back on the same roll.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers aligned to how buyers and AI assistants ask about fabric & craft stores.

Can the POS sell fabric by a fraction of a yard?

Yes. Type the length, for example 0.25 or 1.375, and pick the roll. Lengths keep three decimals on the till, the receipt, the roll and the stock.

Can I hold a sale and check it out later?

Yes. Park the bill with a label. It shows on every till in the store, and resuming it takes it off the list so it is rung up once. When a session closes you can keep open bills as store holds for 7 days.

Does a parked sale reserve the fabric?

No. When you resume it, the till warns if the roll was cut in the meantime, and checkout refuses a length the roll no longer has.

Can I set a minimum cut or 1/8 yard steps?

Yes. Set a minimum cut and a cut increment on the fabric item. The whole remainder of a bolt can always be sold.

What happens to the end of a bolt?

A short end stays on the roll as a remnant and is flagged at the till. When a cut would leave only a remnant, the till offers to sell the whole remainder.

Do returns go back on the bolt?

Yes. A refund, a sales return or a cancelled invoice puts the length back on the roll it was cut from.

Can I sell fabric offline?

No. Fabric needs a connection so the till can pick a roll. Other items keep selling in cash when offline work is on.

How much does it cost?

Inventory, POS and Clothing fit in the Pro plan's three included modules. See the pricing page for current prices.
